Job summary

KDC-ONE is seeking a Buyer - Mechanical & Engineering to source and manage parts for maintenance and manufacturing operations at its Saddle Brook, NJ facility. You will collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production to ensure timely procurement of quality materials and support uptime.

The role requires 3–5 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, strong vendor negotiation skills, and proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Experience sourcing machine parts, industrial components, maintenance supplies, and engineering-related materials.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment and mechanical systems.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and procurement software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components for manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Procure spare parts, maintenance supplies, tooling, and engineering-related materials to support plant operations.
• Review purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders per policies and budgets.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and technical capabilities.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with vendors to optimize value.
• Monitor inventory levels of critical spare parts and advise stocking strategies.
• Maintain purchasing records, supplier databases, and procurement docs.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Maintenance to understand equipment requirements.
• Expedite urgent orders and resolve issues with shipments or non-conforming materials.
• Support preventive maintenance with necessary replacement parts.
• Analyze purchasing trends and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and safety.
