Job summary

DSG-Canusa is seeking a Buyer at the Fairfield facility to support day-to-day purchasing operations, ensuring timely procurement of materials, supplies, and services to keep production moving.

You will manage high volumes of smaller, non-core purchases and Kanban-driven inventory, maintain strong supplier relationships, and optimize data accuracy in the ERP system while collaborating with operations, engineering, and procurement teams to drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; post-secondary education preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on purchasing or sourcing experience required.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and managing purchase orders through full lifecycle.
• Strong Excel skills for data analysis and lookups.
• Understanding of inventory management in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of sourcing processes, supplier coordination, and order tracking.

Responsibilities

• Execute MRP-based purchasing activities in the ERP system by analyzing demand, inventory, and open orders to ensure accurate requisitions and supply alignment.
• Process non-MRP purchase requests, including smaller and ad hoc orders, with proper supplier setup.
• Generate purchase orders, coordinate delivery schedules, track order status, and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available to meet production needs without stockouts.
• Maintain ERP data accuracy, including pricing, PO status, and inventory parameters.
• Resolve supplier issues such as shortages or late deliveries through direct communication.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and procurement to support site purchasing needs.
• Support continuous improvement by enhancing purchasing processes and data quality.
• Serve as a reliable liaison between suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
