Job summary

The Tremont Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Wareham is seeking an MDS Coordinator to join our care team. Shift is Monday–Friday 8a–4p and may include weekends.

LPN or RN licensure considered; compensation up to $50 per hour depending on license and experience. The MDS Director will plan, organize, and direct the MDS process, review medical history, conduct assessments, complete CMS MDS item sets, and ensure CMS regulatory guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an RN/LPN in this state.
• Prior experience in MDS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordination of MDS process.
• Oversees ADL training for facility and staff.
• Issues and delivers denial notices timely and appropriately.
• Complete and transmit all CMS approved item sets (MDS).
• Must be knowledgeable of and follow current CMS regulatory guidelines as described in RAI Manual.
• Complies with facility privacy policies and procedures and protects residents’ health information.
• Maintains Medicare meeting minutes per Medicare program agreement.
• Issues and delivers Medicare denial letters per CMS regulations.
• Assures appropriate management of residents’ Medicare/Insurance benefits.
• Maintains adequate systems to ensure appropriate documents are sufficient to support billed services.
• Other duties assigned by manager.
