Job summary

BMO Harris Bank is seeking a senior leader in Internal Audit to provide strategic oversight of audit coverage across Cybersecurity and Core Technology. You will shape the audit strategy, prioritize testing, and drive integrated coverage in partnership with the Chief Auditor group.

The role requires 15+ years in financial services audit/risk, strong leadership, and the ability to engage regulators and executives.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Internal Audit, Technology Audit, Cybersecurity, or Risk Management in large financial institutions.
• Senior leadership overseeing complex technology domains including cybersecurity, cloud, and operations.
• Proven ability to lead integrated audit programs across multiple risk domains.
• Strong experience engaging regulators and executive stakeholders (CIO, CISO).
• Track record driving audit transformation with analytics and automation.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and capability uplift.
• Knowledge of AI, quantum computing, evolving regulatory expectations, and supply chain risk.
• Certifications in IS audit or cybersecurity required; cloud/security certs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a risk-based, integrated audit strategy across Cybersecurity and Core Technology.
• Lead risk assessment activities and develop audit coverage strategies for independent assurance.
• Strengthen audit capabilities through workforce planning and targeted capability development.
• Maintain integrated coverage across cybersecurity, engineering, operations, cloud, and third-party ecosystems.
• Serve as senior audit relationship lead for technology executives and regulators.
• Lead audit support for regulatory examinations, horizontal reviews, and remediation activities.
• Ensure quality, consistency, and timeliness of audit delivery via standardized methodologies.
• Drive analytics, continuous assurance, and AI-enabled auditing for forward-looking risk insights.
• Promote risk culture and tone from the top within the organization.
