Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Materials Manager based in Elk River, MN to lead procurement, inventory control, and scheduling, driving SIOP processes and ERP-driven material management. You will optimize inventory levels, support customer demand, and improve operations and MRO services across functions.

The role requires guiding a team, ensuring an accurate master schedule, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to meet 95% on-time promise dates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• 3+ years in purchasing, production control, or materials management in manufacturing.
• Experience using ERP for materials planning, inventory, and purchasing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning abilities with multitasking.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Materials team with clear direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Coordinate sourcing, SIOP, forecast, and master scheduling to meet customer demand.
• Maintain ERP data accuracy: costs, lead-times, usage, transactions, and cycle counts.
• Develop and manage the annual budget for the materials department.
• Ensure material availability to support manufacturing and operations.
