Job summary

Toshiba International Corporation in Houston, TX, is seeking a Production Planner to forecast, schedule, and requisition materials to sustain economical production continuity.

You will coordinate flows between departments, maintain lead times, and ensure on-time deliveries by communicating with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Engineering. This role requires 3–5 years in production planning with ERP/MRP experience and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, supply chain, or a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems (Oracle, SAP, BAAN) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to independently manage production schedules, analyze material shortages, and resolve issues.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience in make-to-order or engineered-to-order manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain material forecasts to support customer manufacturing requirements.
  • Maintain scheduling spreadsheets and production charts.
  • Maintain accurate lead time data with purchasing/manufacturing.
  • Coordinate and process engineering changes.
  • Achieve material continuity on a total cost basis.
  • Identify excess material and initiate write-offs.
  • Assist in detecting transaction control errors and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide data to production control on material availability and conditions.
  • Control inventory to meet planned goals.
  • Develop and issue material and parts requisitions.
  • Plan procurements to ensure on-time builds.
  • Participate in SGA and other duties as assigned.
  • Run shortage reports and work with purchasing to meet production demands.
  • Analyze capacity requirements and advise production supervisor on resolutions to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Maintain assigned work area and equipment.
