Job summary

Rush Enterprises Inc. is seeking a Materials Planner who will assist in materials requirement planning, establish replenishment methodologies, and coordinate priorities to ensure uninterrupted material flow into manufacturing.

The role plans inventory, places and maintains purchase orders for raw materials, analyzes demand impacts on inventory, and collaborates with production and supply chain partners to meet production goals. A driver license and ERP system familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• Seven years’ related experience in manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with insurability guidelines.
• Familiarity with ERP business systems and basic data entry (keyboard/10-key).

Responsibilities

• Plan all inventory parts within responsibility area. Make decisions to release, firm, cancel, or defer work based upon current inventory, demand, and capacity.
• Place and maintain purchase orders for raw materials within responsibility area.
• Analyze and report impacts of demands on future inventory levels to forecast required material for production goals.
• Work with management to expedite or defer materials to meet production and inventory objectives.
• Plan material requirements for common materials to meet external customer demand.
• Establish replenishment triggers and provisioning methodologies within the production process.
• Collaborate with production to update the master production schedule.
• Coordinate with supply chain partners to ensure effective use of inventory.
