Job summary

RS is seeking a detail-driven Materials Planner in Humble, TX to help keep production running smoothly by planning schedules, coordinating materials, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations. You will work with Production, Purchasing, and Order Preparation to align schedules and delivery priorities.

The role requires 5+ years in production planning, strong Excel and ERP skills (Epicor a plus), and a diploma or associate degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting, or related field.
• 5+ years of production planning or scheduling experience in manufacturing.
• Strong Excel and ERP system skills; Epicor experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily production schedules aligned with targets and resource availability.
• Forecast production activity up to 8 weeks ahead and maintain 4–6 week schedules.
• Collaborate with Production and Purchasing to ensure materials and inputs are available.
• Generate and distribute production docs (work orders, load diagrams).
• Track production performance using Excel and ERP systems.
• Support safe, compliant manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist in other roles such as auditing ERP data inputs and preparing shipping paperwork.
• Back up Buyer by placing purchase orders in their absence.
