Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing is seeking a Sr. Production Planner for a Houston-based manufacturing company. The role focuses on production scheduling, MRP, and cross-functional coordination to meet customer delivery commitments.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in production planning, strong ERP/MRP experience (SAP/Oracle/JD Edwards/Epicor/Infor LN), and exposure to fabrication or engineer-to-order environments. A CPIM is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of production planning or manufacturing planning experience.
• Experience in fabrication, industrial manufacturing, engineer-to-order, or custom manufacturing environments.
• Strong ERP/MRP experience (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Epicor, Infor LN, or similar).
• Experience with production scheduling, work order management, BOMs, routings, capacity planning, and shortage resolution.
• APICS CPIM certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Create, release, and manage production work orders.
• Analyze MRP outputs, identify shortages, and coordinate material availability.
• Verify BOMs, routings, engineering changes, and production readiness.
• Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Warehouse, and Project teams to resolve scheduling and material constraints.
• Monitor production progress, prioritize work orders, and communicate recovery plans when needed.
• Support ERP data integrity, planning process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and support junior planners as needed.
