Job summary

Lear Corporation in Michigan is seeking a Materials Planner to manage raw materials, production scheduling, and inventory control for the plant. This role requires coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to maintain steady material flow and minimize downtime.

You will work within the Materials team to ensure accurate KPI tracking, timely shipments, and efficient use of SAP/AS400 systems, with a strong emphasis on cost control and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and extensive maintenance/supervisory experience in foam manufacturing.
• Experience with polyurethane foam processing.
• Knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
• Understanding of ISO14001/TS16949 Quality Management System.
• Lock Out/Tag Out safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Direct and control raw materials flow for the plant under limited supervision.
• Support movement of raw/finished materials, storage, scheduling and inventory control.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent expedited inventories.
• Monitor SAP/AS400 transactions, invoicing and material movements.
• Coordinate supplier shipments and ensure on-time arrivals.
• Review accruals with shipments monthly.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing and Suppliers.
• Support Kaizen savings projects to improve supply chain efficiency.
• Standardize 5S in work units to ensure a safe workplace.
