Job summary

ARTEMIS EXECUTIVE PARTNERS is seeking a Material Planner for a growing building materials distributor in the Houston area. You will coordinate planning, inventory, packaging, and flow to support production and distribution, acting as the link between production output, finished goods, suppliers, and customer demand.

The role requires strong analytical skills, ERP/MRP experience (SAP MM/PP), and the ability to forecast demand, manage stock levels, and collaborate across Procurement, Production,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of material planning, production planning, inventory management, or related experience.
• Experience in fast-moving manufacturing or building materials environments.
• Hands-on experience with ERP and MRP systems (SAP MM/PP or similar).
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting demand, inventory, and supplier data.
• Proven ability to resolve shortages, inventory issues, and bottlenecks.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Forecast, order, and maintain optimal stock levels for packaging and materials.
• Coordinate production and packing schedules with plant operations and sales forecasts.
• Monitor warehouse capacity and implement FIFO inventory control.
• Plan dispatches, schedule truck loading, and optimize logistics flow.
• Track packaging waste, breakage, and losses to reduce waste.
• Collaborate with Sales, Quality Control, Procurement, and Finance.
• Develop and maintain material planning strategies for uninterrupted production.
• Create and adjust MRP schedules based on forecasts and production plans.
• Maintain BOM accuracy and ERP/MRP data integrity.
• Prepare reports on inventory, availability, and supplier performance.
