Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in building systems and energy efficiency, is seeking a Purchasing Sourcing professional in Mississippi. Under supervision, you will procure materials and services, support senior buyers, and help qualify suppliers to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

You will place orders, coordinate with suppliers on lead times, and collaborate with engineering on new product development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of purchasing or production/inventory control experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Negotiation skills are required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Procures materials to meet inventory turns, cost, quality, and customer requirements.
• Supports senior buyers and Plant Sourcing Manager on procurement issues, such as invoice discrepancies and expediting orders.
• Assists in supplier qualification per the ISO Supplier Selection Procedure and audits/qualifies new sources of supply.
• Places purchase orders and communicates forecast requirements to suppliers.
• Determines supplier lead times for purchasing components.
• Partners with engineering in new product development to understand product specifications.
