Job summary

Slate is seeking a Material Planner to ensure timely material availability for production, manage forecasts and orders, and coordinate with suppliers to support manufacturing in the USA.

The role requires strong analytical and organizational abilities, experience in lean/Six Sigma, and proficiency with Excel and ERP/MRP systems; you’ll work cross-functionally with purchasing, quality, and engineering to optimize material flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
• 5+ years in material and production planning with lean/Six Sigma exposure
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (automotive, medical devices, aerospace) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute material plans based on forecasts, orders, and targets
• Monitor inventory, perform cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies
• Coordinate with suppliers on delivery schedules and urgent orders
• Support material readiness for launches and engineering changes
• Participate in lean and Six Sigma projects to improve material flow
• Analyze consumption trends using Excel and generate reports
• Collaborate with purchasing, logistics, quality, and engineering
• Maintain documentation of material plans and supplier communications
