Job summary

The Master Scheduler at Johnson Controls is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule to ensure efficient resource use, on-time delivery, and alignment with customer demand.

This role works cross-functionally with Production, Supply Chain, Customer Service and Sales to balance demand and supply while minimizing cost and maximizing service levels. It includes overseeing capacity planning, SIOP alignment, and schedule execution across shop areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or APICS CPIM/CSCP certification with 4–6 years experience.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, forecasting tools).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and communicate the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for multiple production lines based on demand.
• Balance production capacity, material availability, and labor resources to meet delivery commitments.
• Analyze demand forecasts and align with Sales/Operations Planning (SIOP).
• Support planning adjustments in response to demand changes, constraints, or disruptions.
• Coordinate with Materials Management to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Lead cross-functional scheduling meetings like S&OP and capacity planning.
