Job summary

Klein Tools in Mansfield, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Buyer to procure materials for manufacturing operations, including raw materials, MRO, semi-fabricated parts, and packaging. You will manage supplier relationships, monitor inventory levels, and support a steady flow of materials for production.

The role requires a Bachelor's in supply chain with at least 1 year of related experience; APICS/CSCP certification is preferred and MRP knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in supply chain with 1 year of related experience required.
• APICS/CSCP certification preferred.
• MRP knowledge preferred.
• Familiarity with pull systems, inventory and bill of materials is a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with suppliers to purchase materials and ensure on-time delivery, quality and price.
• Oversee control of inventory on consumed materials, reworks, and retrofits; initiate orders as needed.
• Advise internal customers of delivery date changes and alternative sources; recovery plans.
• Enter orders into purchasing systems and issue purchase orders.
• Communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules and quality issues.
• Coordinate with Logistics to assure on-time delivery.
• Monitor receipts for shortages and overages; partner with AP on invoice discrepancies.
• Participate in core team meetings; support procurement of new/prototype materials and external processes.
• Participate in cost savings initiatives.
• Perform other duties as required.
