Job summary

BCA is part of Mpac Group and is seeking a Financial Controller to lead financial control and reporting across the manufacturing organisation in Newburyport, MA. This role partners with Engineering, Operations, Sales and Senior Management to drive efficiency and strategic decision-making.

The successful candidate will oversee BOM accuracy, product costing, standard costing, and robust controls while managing ERP initiatives and team development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA and/or MBA qualifications are advantageous.
• Manufacturing finance experience, ideally within capital equipment or engineer-to-order (ETO) environments.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management.
• Experience leading and developing teams.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software; Microsoft Dynamics experience is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels of the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant-level accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning processes.
• Oversee cash management, receivables, payables, and banking relationships.
• Provide insightful financial analysis to identify risks and opportunities across the business.
• Manage ERP implementation, adoption, and ongoing system improvements.
• Ensure the accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs), product costing, and standard costing systems.
• Lead month-end close activities and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and compliance procedures.
• Supervise and develop finance and support staff.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across financial processes and systems.
