Job summary

Bauer is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance for a mid-size manufacturing organization. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to provide financial insight, drive cost control, and support strategic decision-making.

The Controller will lead the accounting team, manage cost accounting, budgeting, and ERP improvements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 7–10+ years progressive accounting experience; manufacturing experience 3–5+ years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles; ERP experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and reporting packages.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Partner with operations and leadership to drive cost control and margins.
• Manage ERP system usage and drive automation improvements.
