Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a Senior Controller to provide financial leadership for a major operating division in Monterey, CA. The role oversees accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting, acting as a strategic advisor to divisional leadership.

Ideal candidates bring extensive manufacturing accounting experience, executive presence, and the ability to use data to improve profitability, margins, and business performance. The position reports to senior leadership and requires on-site work.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in progressive finance roles with senior leadership responsibility.
• 5+ years manufacturing or inventory-intensive experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and close processes.
• Proven ability to influence executive leadership and drive results.

Responsibilities

• Partner with divisional leadership to shape business strategies and support financial decision-making.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to drive revenue growth, margins, and profitability.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in line with U.S. GAAP.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities and ensure accuracy of results.
• Manage standard costing, product costing, and analysis of manufacturing costs.
• Monitor performance metrics and communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership.
• Oversee budgeting, cash flow, working capital, and capital investment analysis.
• Evaluate capital projects and expected returns to support disciplined investments.
• Collaborate with operations to improve processes and reporting.
