Job summary

Gedusa in Solon, OH is seeking a Buyer/Planner to manage assigned commodities in an OEM manufacturing environment. You will handle supplier development, purchase orders, materials planning, and cost and quality performance to secure reliable, cost‑effective sources of supply.

The role collaborates closely with Engineering, Quality and Operations; you will review engineering drawings, prepare quotes, negotiate terms, maintain MRP data, and drive continuous improvement in purchasing processes

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in an OEM manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, including GD&T.
• Working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
• Experience with automated/ERP purchasing systems and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Identify, develop, and maintain reliable sources of supply within assigned commodities.
• Place, follow up on, expedite, and de-expedite purchase orders to meet material requirements.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers; review supplier quality performance.
• Plan material purchases to minimize inventory and maximize efficiency; maintain MRP data.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Operations to improve purchasing processes.
