Job summary

American Products in Strafford, MO is seeking a Buyer to support our manufacturing operations through effective sourcing and purchasing of materials and services. This role partners closely with operations and suppliers to ensure quality, cost control, and on-time delivery.

You will create and manage purchase orders, source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers, analyze pricing, and track purchases, inventory levels, deliveries, and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Experience buying raw materials or production supplies preferred.
• 2+ years of ERP experience (Syteline a plus).
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and solutions-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders to support production needs.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers.
• Analyze pricing, proposals, and supplier data to ensure competitive costs.
• Track purchases, inventory levels, deliveries, and supplier performance.
• Support cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
• Collaborate with production, operations, and finance teams.
• Resolve vendor-related delivery, quality, or service issues.
