Job summary

IDEA is seeking a Major Gifts Officer to manage relationships with major donors and prospects, driving revenue and mission impact. You will develop personalized engagement plans, coordinate with regional staff and leadership, and steward donor relationships through detailed proposals, reports, and events.

The role requires building a robust major gifts pipeline, effective partnership with fund development leadership, and travel to engage donors across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE certification is preferred.
• 5 years successful fundraising experience for nonprofit organizations, preferred.
• Must excel in working with high net-worth individuals, families and businesses, and have the ability to compel investment in IDEA’s mission.
• Demonstrated success in prospect identification, relationship building, donor solicitation, portfolio management, and stewardship.
• Strong ability to communicate persuasively and strategically, with tact and diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Manages a portfolio of major donors and qualified prospects.
• Develops strategies for identification of new donors and cultivation of current donors.
• Implements fundraising strategies from individuals through major gift campaigns and events.
• Develops individualized engagement plans in coordination with leadership.
• Maintains accurate records of donor-related activities and engagement strategies.
