Job summary

Our Children's Trust is seeking a Development Officer, Major & Institutional Giving to grow philanthropic support. You will cultivate and steward individual donors, family foundations, and institutional funders, working with leadership to move supporters toward deeper investment in OCT’s youth-led, science-based constitutional climate litigation.

The role focuses on donor cultivation, proposals, grant reporting, and moves management, with travel to donor meetings and events as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years fundraising experience, or alternative education pathways with years of experience as listed.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and funders.
• Strong writing skills and ability to translate complex work into donor communications.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of individual donors, family foundations, institutional funders, and high-capacity prospects.
• Develop donor and funder strategies using moves management principles.
• Grow revenue by retaining supporters and identifying new funding opportunities.
• Prepare for and participate in donor meetings, briefings, and follow-up communications.
• Draft proposals, concept notes, grant reports, and funder updates with program partners.

Education

7 years of fundraising experience

Associate's degree + 5 years fundraising experience

Bachelor's degree + 3 years fundraising experience

Master's degree + 2 years fundraising experience
