Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Hibbing Management LLC is seeking a Maintenance Planner in Hibbing, MN to organize and coordinate work orders into defined plans. You will develop procedures and budgets, and source labor, parts, and equipment to execute the plan.

Responsibilities include building a parts library, ensuring safety and MSHA compliance, and communicating maintenance plans across the team. A 2-year technical degree and 3–5 years mining industry experience are required.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in technical field or equivalent.
• 3-5 years’ recent experience at a mining/mineral processing facility or heavy industry, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Project experience, including installation and startup, is helpful.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills such as team building and conflict resolution are required.
• Willingness to promote team concepts and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Organize incoming work orders into defined, planned work packages.
• Develop and document work procedures and scopes using Ellipse system.
• Identify, specify, and order required contract labor, parts, tooling, and equipment to complete the work plan.
• Build parts and standard jobs resource library.
• Ensure safe work practices and MSHA standards across the department.
• Coordinate daily and weekly maintenance plans with all stakeholders.
• Develop short- and long-range maintenance plans and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance plans and budgets.
• Close work orders with supervisors after completion.
• Update equipment history and tracking for assets.
• Collaborate with planners, supervisors, technicians, and reliability engineers on improvements.
