Job summary

The University of Virginia seeks a Manager of Mail and Package Services to lead all mail and package operations across student housing, health systems, and academic spaces. This role ensures reliable, efficient services aligned with UVA’s mission, while guiding strategy and day-to-day operations.

You will manage staff, ensure USPS and carrier compliance, oversee vendor relationships, and drive innovations in tracking, delivery accuracy, and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and related experience in mail services, logistics, operations management or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in the areas of mail services, shipping/receiving, or related operations.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision and direction for all mail and package services.
• Oversee daily mail and package processing, delivery, and distribution to facilities and health systems.
• Ensure compliance with USPS carrier regulations and University policies.
• Develop operational strategies prioritizing efficiency, customer service, and compliance.
• Collaborate with departments to resolve service challenges and implement process improvements.
• Lead staff development and manage staffing plans and budgets.
