Job summary

Xcel Energy in Denver seeks a Corporate Development Director to lead strategy and execution of acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures. You will coordinate valuations, due diligence, and risk assessment while guiding senior leadership on strategic investment opportunities.

The role requires a decade of relevant experience, strong negotiation and financial modeling skills, and the ability to work across teams in a dynamic energy environment. Overnight travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Ten years’ acquisitions/divestitures or equivalent corporate development experience.
• Demonstrated skilled negotiator with strong financial modeling capability.
• Experience in or knowledge of an energy related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Corporate Development team in strategy development and portfolio execution.
• Independently negotiate multiple large, complex transactions simultaneously.
• Assess opportunities including acquisitions, divestitures, or joint ventures for strategic fit.
• Conduct financial evaluations and due diligence reviews of potential opportunities.
• Coordinate negotiations and support business units on new initiatives.
• Coach and develop staff within Corporate Development.
