Job summary

Western Digital Corporation is seeking an Associate, Corporate Development Analyst in San Jose, CA. This role focuses on leading financial modeling, deal execution, and evaluating M&A and venture opportunities within a strategic framework.

You will build rigorous financial models, prepare executive-ready materials, and partner across Finance, Legal, HR, and product teams to drive due diligence and deal closing with independence and precision.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years in investment banking, private equity/growth equity, corporate development, or management consulting.
• Transaction execution experience on live deals (due diligence through close).
• Exceptional financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills.
• Experience producing investment memos, Board materials, and executive deal summaries.
• Familiarity with due diligence across Legal, Finance, HR, IT, and product.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong Excel and PowerPoint; data visualization is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial modeling and deal economics independently including DCF/valuation, trading and transaction comps, accretion/dilution, synergy analysis, and deal structuring.
• Build and defend sophisticated financial models from scratch, including stress-testing assumptions under executive scrutiny.
• Develop unit economics, return analyses, and value-creation frameworks for M&A and venture opportunities; support investment thesis development with rigorous quantitative underpinning.
