Job summary

Focus Financial Partners is seeking an Associate to join its core strategy team overseeing corporate development and M&A activities. You will participate in every step of the deal process—from proposal to close—working with senior team members to drive deals to completion.

The role emphasizes financial analysis, deal structuring, due diligence, and coordination with stakeholders across the firm. Base location includes NYC, Austin, and San Francisco.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a top university or college.
• 2–3 years full-time work experience in investment banking, private equity or strategic consulting.
• Competency in financial statement analysis and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Participate in every step of the M&A deal process from proposal to close.
• Review Confidential Information Memorandums (CIMs) for investment banker-led processes to assess fit and coordinate NDAs/meetings.
• Financial due diligence and P&L scope for prospective deals.
• Structuring and modeling deal terms.
• Preparing and presenting Investment Committee memorandums and term sheets.
• Acting as central point for coordination across Focus’ Corporate and business line teams.
• Assisting senior team members and gaining cross-functional exposure to legal, finance, and other teams.
