Job summary

Honeywell seeks a Purchasing Manager to lead plant procurement for direct materials, oversee a team of buyers, and drive cost-effective sourcing at the Palmetto, FL site on a hybrid schedule. You will coordinate with global sourcing, manage supplier risk, and optimize supplier relationships to support LNG projects and manufacturing operations.

The role emphasizes contract strategy, performance metrics, and collaboration with engineering, finance, and production teams to deliver value and supply

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of procurement or supply chain experience in machining/fabrication
• 5 years’ experience managing a team of Buyers (Strategic and Operational)
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills
• Proficiency with procurement software and tools used in machining procurement
• Experience managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with procurement standards
• Knowledge of machining processes, materials, and technologies including CNC machining, tooling, fabrication methods
• Ability to evaluate machine suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for sourcing decisions
• Experience conducting technical assessments of machining components to ensure engineering compliance

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement activities at the plant, manage a buyers team, and drive productivity and working capital improvements
• Maintain bi-weekly supplier committee meetings and connect leadership across project, production, quality, engineering, and finance
• Collaborate with Global Category Sourcing Team on supplier strategies, qualification, and supplier base expansion
• Improve procurement operations with alignment to global procurement processes from PO creation to invoice resolution
• Manage supplier risk and develop mitigation plans with cross-functional teams
• Lead negotiations for key LNG suppliers and align contracts, pricing, capacity, and pay terms
• Integrate Honeywell UOP supplier qualification model into LNG procurement
• Drive reductions in sole-source suppliers and implement value engineering initiatives
• Report monthly on productivity and KPI progress with Global Category Sourcing alignment
• Coordinate with Engineering, Finance, ISC, Production, Quality and Logistics to align purchasing activities
• Lead Steering Committee meetings and drive cross-functional project support
• Develop site Buyers and implement supplier scorecards and performance improvements
• Develop LNG PSL and AVL with Global Category Sourcing Team
• Identify and implement procurement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs
• Lead escalation meetings on supplier delivery shortages and project progress
• Mentor site Buyers and remove roadblocks through cross-functional collaboration
