Job summary

ICANN is seeking an Associate General Counsel in Los Angeles to report to the Deputy General Counsel. The role includes developing litigation and ADR strategies, overseeing outside counsel, and providing legal support to management and Board committees.

Ideal candidates will have at least 12 years of experience, California Bar admission, and fluency in English. The position requires strong risk assessment, cross-cultural communication, and the ability to work in a global environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of increasingly responsible experience in related fields.
• License to practice law in California required.
• Active license to practice law and being a member in good standing with the appropriate bar is required.
• Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required.
• Fluent written and spoken language skills in any of the other official United Nations languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide litigation and ADR services for ICANN and protect ICANN’s legal rights and privileges.
• Manage ICANN’s internal and external litigation activities and discovery, document production, and related tasks.
• Oversee compliance with economic sanctions programs.
• Advise senior management and board committees on litigation and dispute issues.
• Ensure global compliance with applicable laws across departments.
• Provide legal guidance for organizational initiatives and risk mitigation.
