Job summary

Teaching Matters in New York seeks an Associate Director of Programs (ELA) to design, implement, and lead literacy initiatives across NYC and nationally. You will partner with the VP of Programs to scale equitable literacy programs, pitch new ideas, and drive measurable outcomes for students.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in literacy education, a track record of system-wide change in schools, and deep knowledge of HQIM and ELA instruction. Travel is required as projects demand.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of instructional and leadership experience in literacy education.
  • Proven success leading system-level change in schools.
  • Experience designing/implementing RTI systems in schools.
  • Deep knowledge of current research in ELA instruction.
  • Professionalism and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Strong commitment to Teaching Matters' mission and equity goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop program offerings and instructional materials aligned with priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create high-quality educator content.
  • Lead data-informed improvement cycles and report outcomes, guiding revisions.
