You will articulate a strategic direction, manage budgets, and lead both full‑time and part‑time library staff, fostering partnerships with colleges, consortia, and external networks. The role requires extensive experience in higher education libraries, strong leadership, and active involvement in professional associations.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an ALA-accredited program in Library/Information Science or equivalent.
• Seven years of full‑time library experience in higher education, including five years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
• Experience at a community college is preferred.
• Experience at a large, multi-campus organization is preferred.
• Experience in developing and maintaining partnerships with libraries and consortia is preferred.
• Involvement with professional associations at local, state, regional, and national levels is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, articulates, and presents the vision for the unit and translates it into strategic goals.
• Leads and supports direct reports in fulfilling the library vision.
• Collaborates with faculty, staff, and administrators to support student learning and success.
• Directs budgeting for the unit and projects needs for services, facilities, staffing, and other costs.
• Recruits, hires, retains, and evaluates library faculty and staff.
• Facilitates professional development opportunities for library staff and faculty.
• Represents the libraries in college governance and state consortia.
• Represents the college in regional library systems and external networks.
• Serves on college committees and task forces.
