Job summary

The UCLA Library seeks a collaborative, analytics-minded Librarian for Analytics, Metrics & Assessment. The role partners across units to define measures, design assessments, and develop dashboards informing planning and resource allocation.

Qualifications

• Collaborative, service-oriented librarian who can translate questions into assessments.
• Strong data literacy with ability to design measures and dashboards.
• Experience communicating complex methods to non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with library metrics, data dictionaries, and reporting practices.
• Project management and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Library leaders to translate questions into assessment plans and deliverables.
• Extract, clean, and analyze data from library systems and sources.
• Apply descriptive statistics and user-centered research to evaluate services and performance.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Alma Analytics and Tableau.
• Create shared metric definitions, data dictionaries and reproducible workflows.
• Manage analytics projects from intake to completion with clear communication.
• Improve data collection, quality, and workflows to support analysis.
• Coordinate reporting with donors and endowments where applicable.
• Present findings with narratives and visualizations to leadership.
• Provide trainings to strengthen staff data literacy and analytical skills.
• Possibly mentor student employees on analytics tasks.
• Engage in professional activities and support UC academic librarian duties.
