Job summary

The UCLA Library seeks a collaborative, service-oriented and analytically skilled Library Analytics, Metrics & Assessment Librarian (LAMAL) to advance a culture of evidence-informed decision-making.

Reporting to the head of Library Analytics, Metrics & Assessment, the librarian will partner with units across the Library to define meaningful measures, design assessments, analyze data, and develop reliable dashboards and reports that inform planning, resource allocation, service improvement, and

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science or related field at hire
• Experience generating queries/reports from analytics environments and BI platforms
• Experience using data-visualization/dashboard platforms (Tableau/Power BI/Looker Studio)
• Ability to visualize data and communicate findings to diverse audiences
• Experience designing assessments and translating findings into actionable improvements
• Foundational statistical reasoning and data-privacy awareness

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Library leaders to translate questions into assessment plans and deliverables
• Extract, clean, integrate, and analyze data from library systems and external sources
• Develop and maintain dashboards and recurring reports using Alma Analytics and Tableau
• Create data dictionaries, documentation, and reproducible workflows
• Manage analytics projects from intake to completion with stakeholders
• Provide training to staff on assessment planning and data literacy
• Partner with Library Development for donor metrics and stewardship
• Synthesize findings into narratives and actionable recommendations
