Job summary

FICPA in Tallahassee seeks a Manager of Legislative & Political Affairs to advance the association's governmental affairs program. You will work with the Chief External Affairs Officer to oversee bill reviews, tracking, and the creation of summaries, while coordinating communications materials to support advocacy efforts and fundraising campaigns.

The role includes administering Florida PAC compliance, coordinating with committees, and providing strategic input on legislative processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or preferred in communications, public relations, marketing, business administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in fundraising, communications, grassroots advocacy, legislative lobbying, public administration, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as registered lobbyist as needed for FICPA advocacy.
• Manage daily tracking, monitoring, and calendaring of legislation and amendments.
• Oversee activities of CPA PACs, including compliance with campaign finance laws and reports.
• Lead fundraising strategy implementation and provide updates to leadership.
• Assist with planning CPA Day at the Capitol and advocacy meetings/events.
• Provide strategic input on legislative and political matters to executive leadership.
• Provide administrative support (calendar, travel reimbursements) to CEAO and Tallahassee office.
• Develop and implement communications strategy for advocacy efforts, including drafting letters and emails and preparing reports and PowerPoints.

Education

Bachelor's degree in communications/public relations/marketing/business administration or related field

3–5 years in fundraising/communications/grassroots advocacy/legislative lobbying/public administration or related field
