Job summary

Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission seeks a Legislative Operations Lead MA5 in the Policy and Legislative Affairs division. The role leads agency-wide legislative operations, managing the full lifecycle from intake to implementation tracking, with expert analysis and guidance on complex issues.

This hybrid position requires residence in Washington and reporting to the Lacey headquarters when needed; moderate travel within the state may be required to conduct business at utilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years of progressively responsible professional experience in complex management, policy, or legislative analysis.
• Ability to provide expert guidance on legislative, regulatory, and organizational issues.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives or agency-wide process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead agency-wide legislative operations design, standards, and accountability mechanisms.
• Provide expert analysis and consultation on complex legislative and regulatory issues.
• Represent executive management in legislative initiatives and complex reporting.
• Perform advanced management, policy, regulatory, legislative, and special-project assignments.
