State of Vermont - Office of Legislative Counsel seeks a Legislative Coordinator to provide direct, one-on-one legislative support to Democratic members of the Illinois House of Representatives. The role emphasizes handling a broad workload in a professional, fast-paced environment within the Illinois Capitol Complex in Springfield.

Responsibilities include drafting bills, preparing talking points, tracking legislation, and coordinating committee staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop members’ legislative agendas and draft bills with policy, budget, and legal units.
• Maintain files on members’ legislation, track status, and prepare talking points.
• Staff legislative committees and coordinate attendance for meetings; support passage of legislation.
• Develop district outreach plans and support constituent outreach across districts.
• Manage the Springfield office: greet visitors, schedule meetings, arrange travel accommodations.
• Coordinate local visits to Springfield and memorialize meetings as needed.
• Provide general administrative support including routing correspondence and calls.
