K&L Gates is seeking a Legal Project Manager in the United States to collaborate with legal teams on high-priority matters, manage budgeting, planning, and delivery across the matter lifecycle, and support firmwide training on legal project management as part of a cross-functional team.

The role emphasizes embedding with the legal team, translating PM methods to a legal setting, and driving process improvements while working with analysts and leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years within law, consulting, or project management.
• Master’s degree or J.D. preferred.
• Experience in a legal services environment and translating PM methods to a legal setting.
• Formal PM certification preferred.
• Comfort using Excel, SharePoint, and related technology.
• Experience in training, influencing and change management a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage matters through scoping, budgeting, planning, execution, and evaluation.
• Provide on-demand PM support during lifecycle phases.
• Embed with the legal team to understand needs and drive solutions.
• Budget matters by reviewing historical data with Matter Planning Analysts.
• Collaborate with leadership on resource allocation and development.
• Develop and deploy firmwide training on Legal Project Management.
• Support PM-related technology implementation.
• Liaise with client’s internal legal operations teams as needed.
• Support change management initiatives and process improvements.
