Job summary

Houston-Galveston Area Council is seeking a Senior Manager to provide strategic leadership for transportation programming and project delivery across the region. You will oversee TIP development, funding compliance, and coordination with local governments and TxDOT to move projects from planning to implementation.

The role requires a strong background in metropolitan transportation planning, with supervisory experience and a track record of improving program delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban/transportation planning or related field.
• Five years of advanced transportation planning experience with program management.
• Experience working for a Metropolitan Planning Organization.
• Master's degree in urban planning/transportation planning or related field.
• Experience with FHWA/FTA, TxDOT, local governments, transit agencies, and/or regional partners.
• Supervisory experience leading professional planning staff.
• Knowledge of metropolitan transportation planning regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead MPO transportation programming and project delivery activities.
• Manage TIP, 10-Year Plan, project readiness, tracking and delivery.
• Collaborate with local governments, TxDOT, transit agencies, and partners.
• Advise executive leadership on funding requirements and implementation strategies.
• Develop processes to improve delivery efficiency and funding utilization.
• Provide supervision and development of managers and staff.
