Job summary

Rocket Lab in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting to lead the analysis and prepare filings for 10-Q/10-K, with hands-on execution of technical accounting under US GAAP.

You will research complex questions under ASC 606, 805, 842, 350, and 718, draft memos, run tie-outs, and own XBRL tagging in Workiva, collaborating with Legal, IR, FP&A, and Tax. A CPA with 10+ years of experience is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
10+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting audit.
CPA license or active candidate.
SEC registrant experience, either in-house or through public accounting audit of public filers.
Strong Excel and data-handling discipline, with attention to detail that holds up under review.

Responsibilities

Build analysis by researching technical questions and drafting memos under key ASC standards.
Prepare financial statements and footnotes for 10-Q and 10-K, complete disclosure checklist.
Run computations: EPS, share-based compensation, lease, goodwill and intangibles roll-forwards.
Own XBRL tagging and validation in Workiva; maintain document links and version control.
Support schedules for purchase accounting, pro forma info, and registration workstreams.
Close the loop: SOX evidence, auditor inquiries, and track open items across departments.
