Job summary

DePaul University in Chicago seeks a strategic leader to head Acquisitions & Collections Strategy (ACS). You will guide the ACS team, manage the library collection budget, and align acquisitions with the university's research and teaching priorities to maximize impact and value.

You will drive data-informed decisions, develop policies, and foster professional development while advancing DEI goals and collaboration across the library and broader university community.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program is required.
• Minimum 6 years of academic library experience, including 3+ years with acquisitions or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the ACS team and align activities with library and university needs.
• Coordinate full materials acquisitions lifecycle across formats and procurement models.
• Shape collection strategies, assess needs with data, and participate in major purchasing decisions.
• Develop policies, supervise staff, and advance professional development.
• Prepare collections budget with leadership and advocate for resources.
• Engage in DEI initiatives and foster an inclusive library culture.
