University of Washington's Finance, Planning, and Budgeting (FPB) seeks an Assistant Director of Financial Shared Services to help build and operate a new shared services organization serving UW schools. You will lead multi-unit operations, partner with faculty, staff, and central offices, and shape service standards.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes strategy, people development, and strong controls, delivering analytics and an improved customer experience within UW's mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field; 5+ years leading financial/shared services in a large or matrixed organization.
• Experience directing multi-unit operations with accountability for service quality, internal controls, and customer outcomes.
• Strong ability to translate strategy into implementation and drive change across groups with varying priorities.

Responsabilités

• Direct accurate, timely, compliant financial services supporting faculty and staff.
• Translate FPB strategy into implementation plans and service standards.
• Coach and develop managers and staff with clear expectations and accountability.
• Build trusted partnerships with faculty, staff, academic leaders, and central offices.
• Use Workday Finance and data to improve workflows, transparency, and customer experience.
