Job summary

Boston Public Health Commission seeks an Administration leader to help advance anti-racist policies, model core values, and provide executive oversight of the Communicable Disease Control Division. You will lead staffing, budgets (~$3M), and collaborations with MDPH and local partners, while guiding meetings, policy development, and data-driven surveillance initiatives to protect Boston residents.

This role requires an MD or equivalent, board-eligible in relevant specialties, and an MPH

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent with Massachusetts license is required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Infectious Disease, Pediatric Medicine, or Internal Medicine is preferred.
• Master of Public Health is preferred and beneficial.
• Minimum 5–7 years leading a communicable disease/public health program.
• Strong supervisory and administrative leadership experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Communicable Disease Control Division budget (~$3 million).
• Lead recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of all staff.
• Coordinate outbreak investigations and disease control activities in Boston.
• Develop workforce retention and succession plans for continuity.
• Represent the division in BPHC and IDB leadership meetings.
• Ensure compliance with MDPH reporting and data dashboards.
