Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Associate Director of Category Management – Commercial Data & Analytics to lead global strategies for data and analytics procurement. You will partner with Analytics, IT, and cross functional teams to optimize data access, quality, and insights across sales, claims, prescriber, and market analytics.

The role requires strong leadership, executive communication, and extensive experience in pharma data categories, with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, analytics, supply chain, or related discipline (master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of procurement or category management experience in pharmaceuticals or healthcare.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and leading reviews for data or analytics solutions.
• Understanding of pharma data types: sales, patient, claims, prescriber analytics and market research data.
• Strong executive communication and consensus-building with senior management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of category management professionals to create best-in-class strategies for commercial data and analytics services.
• Develop long-range category strategies for sourcing data sets such as sales, physician/prescriber, patient claims and promotional data.
• Improve data quality, unify access protocols, and streamline analytics workflows across business units.
• Partner with IT, R&D, Medical Affairs, HEOR and other related organizations to drive alignment.
• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing events (RFP/RFI/RFQ) and contract negotiations for data vendors.
• Mentor Category Managers and Procurement Specialists to build capability.
• Implement short‑ and long‑term cost reduction strategies while maintaining ethics and compliance.
