Job summary

McLaren Automotive seeks a Lead Maintenance Engineer to head the maintenance engineering function at the Composites Technology Centre in Sheffield. You will translate business priorities into maintenance plans, lead a team of engineers, and shape the site maintenance strategy to ensure safe, reliable and cost-efficient operations.

You will drive condition-based maintenance, asset care and reliability improvements while coordinating with production, engineering and leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership experience managing and developing engineering teams.
Advanced multi-skilled capability across electrical, mechanical and fluid power disciplines.
Experience with CMMS/EAM systems and data-driven maintenance decision making.
Degree or professional qualification in maintenance management (e.g., IIMM, SMRP).

Responsibilities

Define the site maintenance strategy and implement it through planning, governance and alignment with business objectives.
Lead and develop the maintenance engineering team, including capability and succession planning.
Establish and monitor maintenance KPIs, OEE and reliability metrics.
Drive continuous improvement using Lean, TPM and Six Sigma methodologies.
Manage budgets, forecasting and cost control for maintenance activities.
Oversee major maintenance, asset improvement and equipment installation projects.
