Job summary

KBR, Inc is seeking a Lead Accountant, Consolidations & Intercompany to drive the monthly close, oversee consolidation activities, and support public company reporting. The role partners with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Internal Controls, and external auditors to ensure accurate financial information and robust controls.

The ideal candidate has 5–6+ years in corporate accounting, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and experience with intercompany eliminations, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5–6+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or public company environment.
• Experience supporting financial close, consolidations, and financial reporting activities.
• Experience applying U.S. GAAP to complex accounting transactions.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review consolidation activities including intercompany eliminations.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and prepare management reporting schedules.
• Prepare and review account reconciliations for financial statement accuracy.
• Assist with SEC reporting information and external filings.
• Support SOX compliance and internal control procedures.
• Collaborate with auditors providing analyses and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
• Provide guidance to less experienced team members.
