Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis seeks a Supply Chain Launch Program Planner to lead new program launches, optimize material handling, and own PFEP, packaging configurations, and Kanban for the entire plant.

The role blends engineering know-how with lean principles, champions cross‑functional teamwork with Engineering, Operations, and Product Line, performs cost analyses for new introductions, trains production teams in kitting, and drives continuous improvement and safe, fork-truck‑free

Qualifications

Cross-functional leadership and change-agent capabilities.
Experience applying PFEP methodology in material handling.
Ability to lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Analyze warehousing processes to remove bottlenecks and optimize receiving, storage, picking, packing, and staging.
Design efficient material flow layouts and zone-picking structures.
Develop PFEP for packaging configurations, min/max levels, and replenishment triggers.
Improve end-to-end traceability with JIT/POU kitting configurations.
Build KPI dashboards using WMS/ERP data via Power BI and Excel.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives targeting space, labor, and material accuracy.
Model space capacity and simulate future-state flows with AutoCAD or Visio.
Conduct PFMEAs and risk assessments for material flows.
