Job summary

Allison Transmission is seeking a skilled Materials Planner to ensure on-time availability of components for production and service schedules. You’ll optimize inventory and work closely with suppliers, engineering, and production teams to maintain smooth material flow.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of planning experience, with strong SAP/MRP knowledge and analytical abilities. This role is based in Indianapolis with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in planning or supply chain roles.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems and MRP processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule component material to meet production and service schedules while optimizing inventory levels.
• Utilize SAP to set planning parameters by part number to optimize inventory levels and assure availability.
• Communicate daily with internal and external suppliers to ensure adherence to schedules and uninterrupted flow of material.
• Determine delivery issues and manage MRP exception messages.
• Monitor external supplier delivery performance and manage engineering change implementation.
• Minimize excess and obsolete material and optimize inventory turns.
