Job summary

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York seeks a full-time Legal Recruiting Lateral Coordinator to join the Legal Recruiting Department. The role supports lateral partner hiring through interview coordination, candidate communications, and logistics, reporting to the Chief Legal Recruiting Officer.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree and 1–3 years in legal recruiting in a large firm, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in legal recruiting at a large law firm or professional services preferred.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent assignments and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with applicant tracking systems, recruiting databases, or CRM platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interview schedules for lateral partner candidates and related communications.
• Collect, organize, and distribute candidate resumes, bios, and materials to sponsors and interview teams.
• Keep partners informed of interview progress, candidate status, and upcoming steps in the process.
• Coordinate meeting logistics with Conference Services for interview days.
• Maintain Candidate Tracker Tools and prepare reports for leadership updates.
• Coordinate interview scheduling with search firms and arrange meals and hospitality.
• Support other team members and maintain confidentiality of information.
• Support student, associate, and lateral recruitment initiatives and projects.
