Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in real estate, land management, water management, construction management, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in land acquisition, land management, or project management within energy or large-scale construction/mining/infrastructure
  • Experience managing third-party vendors or consulting firms
  • Experience interfacing with state regulatory agencies, permitting bodies, or public utility commissions
  • Strong understanding of easements, leases, surface use agreements, and right-of-way documentation
  • Excellent written communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Proficiency with GIS tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Responsibilities

  • Lead land and water diligence, including analysis of mineral and surface rights and encumbrances
  • Coordinate with external consultants (hydrologists, geologists, brokers, abstractors, environmental consultants, land surveyors)
  • Maintain status tracking systems (GIS-based tracking, land management software, internal databases)
  • Support coordination with regulatory agencies on land-use, siting, water sourcing, and right-of-way matters
  • Track compliance with regulations and permitting conditions
  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables
  • Provide regular status reporting to leadership on progress and risks
  • Manage relationships with landowners, consultants, and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate with legal counsel on contract terms and regulatory compliance
  • Support bid packages and proposals for land services and right-of-way work
  • Monitor procurement activities and contractor performance
  • Assist in cost estimation and budgeting for land acquisition
