Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Technology or related field and/or 7+ years of relevant IT experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven success using technology to improve financial and operational performance
• Experience with AI, automation and emerging technologies, with the ability to identify practical business applications
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and strategic-planning skills
• Strong leadership, communication and team‑development abilities
• Thorough understanding of data management, cybersecurity and confidentiality
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
• Strong vendor‑management and relationship‑building skills
• High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both employees and company leadership
• IT, cybersecurity, cloud or project-management certifications are welcomed but not required

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the IT department and establish department goals and priorities
• Develop and execute IT strategies that support company-wide operational and financial goals
• Manage and improve technology supporting transportation, truck systems, MRF operations, recycling and data destruction
• Identify and implement AI, automation and emerging technologies that improve efficiency, productivity, reporting, customer service and decision‑making
• Evaluate opportunities to use AI to reduce repetitive work, improve processes and provide better business insights
• Establish responsible AI, data security and technology‑use practices
• Manage IT projects, budgets, vendors and technology investments
• Partner with senior leadership to evaluate technology costs, risks, benefits and return on investment
• Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, security standards and data‑management practices
• Lead multiple projects and priorities while providing hands‑on technical and strategic support
• Ensure IT operations comply with applicable company, state and federal requirements
